Code of Conduct
This code of conduct has been written to allow members to enjoy safe participation in rowing and promote positive aspects of the sport, as well as treat each other thoughtfully and with dignity.

- Represent the club, yourself and your crew in a positive manner. Refrain from using abusive language. Acts of violence, harassment, intimidation and physical and sexual abuse towards an individual or group will not be tolerated. Wear club colours when racing. Be a positive role model for junior members.
- Take an active role in ensuring the safety of yourself and others, and challenge dangerous behaviour of others. Take responsibility for ensuring that you are up to date with, and adhere to, the club policies and safety procedures. Actively participate in safety training events and pre-row risk assessment. Members must not be pressurised to row or train against their judgement.
- Treat members as individuals: their rights, dignity and worth must be respected. Discrimination on the grounds of age, gender, race, sexuality, disability or cultural background will not be accepted.
- Respect your opponents, coach, coxswain, officials and team mates. Accept the decision of officials at all times. Respond to winning and losing with dignity; congratulate and thank the opposing crews.
- Ensure that club equipment is used appropriately and safely, avoiding damage. Any defects, damage, or accidents must be recorded in the maintenance and safety book. Always help to prepare the boat for rowing and help put kit away, returning club equipment to its proper location.
